Best tires for street?

I finall ygot my first 911. Actually a 69 912 with a 2.0 911 motor. It's a fun drive, it needs new tires pretty quickly. Any recommendations car will mostly be seeing street use for awhile. It has 16x6 fuchs and 205/55zr16s on it now. Should I keep the size the same or change it?

I'm also interested in hearing any recommendation for tire types, Yoko's vs. Goodyear etc. Which brands are better?

Everyone has their opinions on tires and mine is that I like Yokohamas. AVS Sports are available in the size you need. Bridgestone also makes some good tires like the S02 and S03....

Sammy 205's are the widest you are going to get under your 912 without flairs. As for tires I presently am running the Bridgestone S-03's which are expensive, but worth the price of admission. Great dry and wet weather grip. Also very quiet tires.

For the price you can't beat Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's--and the performance is great too. Worth a look.

I'm thrilled with the Yokohama AVS ES100's I have on my NARP 944. Great tire for the money. Half the cost of SO-3's.

I have the S-03's on my 944S2, they are great but expensive.
I just got some Yoko ES100's for the wifes VW GTI and I like them a lot.

Bridgestone's are great, I have had the RE730's and RE750's and they have both been good tires, the S02 and S03 can only be better.
