Valve Adjustment Question...
 

Can it be done without draining the oil? I just did a full tune-up (using 101 Projects) and still hear a bit of a tap I would like to re-adjust; BUT I don't want to have to change the oil again. Any thoughts and/or tricks?

Yes, it's a can do BUT...

What you hafta do is jack up the side of the car you want to do REAL HIGH so the oil drains to the OTHER side. It's a good idea to wait a few minutes after jacking to let it all get outta there. Do that side, bolt it all back together and then repeat on the other side!

Bingo! Just make sure to use jack stands so the car doesn't slip off the jack at that extreme angle and land on yer head!

If it's just the intake vaklves that need checking, you don't even need to jack it up.

But if the exhaust need re-checking, do as Todd stated.

You can narrow it down to which side, and either inlet or exhaust with stethoscope. It is hard to narrow it down to a cylinder.

But at least you will only need to do 3 adjustments rather than 12.
