No rear swaybar

This may sound odd but I have no rear sway bar installed and it feels better.
To help with some background, I have been busy with lots on my car including a trans swap to short 930 which required me to do some cutting and welding on my trans mount support bracket. That bracket is always one of the parts that has tight tolerance when it comes to the rear sway bar. Well now the bar doesn't fit. I'd have to space the swaybar mounts down to clear the new modded trans mount bracket. So I removed the bar just so I could test the car in my excited state planning on making spacers later. But I like how the car feels without more. It feels more planted in the corners. More able to hold the rear without rotating.
It's important to know the suspension feels off in this car at highway speeds. I feel its tie rod ends. It could be something else.
Now it should be noted that I also now have wider rear tires as a result of going wide body during my time off the road with this car. And it would hold more anyway but I also drove this wider car for a short time with the rear bar before I changed the trans and this is how I can see the difference.
My question is if I get a new adjustable bar is it going to be so adjustable that I can almost remove all tension for street driving and add some back for track(I rarely track if ever)?
Do I even need the bar?
Are there some bad things that could happen to the rear suspension if I don't use one?

The crappier the front is, the crappier you have to make the back to balance it...
