too much resonance

I've finally had it. My winter upgrade will be getting rid of the B&B Muffler. It always had too much resonance but, the past 2 years and especially this year the rattling is too much. Especially, below 2800 rpm.

The car is a 1985 w/ a 1995 3.6 with B&B headers and 2 in 2 out muffler. Done some looking around and would like to find a muffler that bolts on to the headers. Fabspeed Maxflows look like a good choice but, I don't need to by the whole package, just the muffler.

Does anyone have any suggestions/

Seems to me that B&B headers have non-standard spacing, and no other off the shelf will bolt up.

Cut one outlet off and weld it up. Test it first by just capping it.

Your muffler has broken inside and the loose baffles are what is rattling. If you fix it you can get the rattle to stop but the basic noise of the B&B muffler is irritating.

I switched it out for a Dynomax 17725 dual-in dual-out. This is a 2-1/4" pipe size muffler. It is real cheap and sounds a lot better. I commonly get people asking what it is because the sound is nice. (It is still louder then I would like but I like a lot less noise then most people. I want to be ignored when I hit the gas!)
I keep one of the outlets blocked for normal driving and I uncork it for events because people like to hear noise when you compete!
Magnaflow makes a similar sized muffler (#11385) in all stainless and a number of people like it but it is too loud for me. (Remember I like quiet and I would never go for a dual out street system because of the increased noise.)
Here are a couple threads on the subject. I know the first one discusses the 11385.
B&B Exhaust - Need to lower noise levels in cabin
B&B Heat Exchangers with other than B&B muffler?
