RS clone color- help

I am about ready to paint my RS clone. I want an orange and have gulf, signal and blood orange painted on a door for comparison. My local paint shop can't find a formula for tangerine #018. Does anyone have a picture of a tangerine car they can post? Thanks in advance. Phil

Aww come on Jim. You know Sepia Brown looks a whole lot better than aubergine

here's a tangerine car if I remember correctly.

There are some great colors that Porsche used- Prince Albert blue, the tangerine above, etc etc. Try to pick something different, yet classy, so people don't point out the "obvious difference" with a real RS.
There are now more than a few gulf blue/ orange combo "rs" out on the west coast- so many we can group them together into a "factory team"!
Be different
and have fun

31,

Blood Orange IS Tangerine #018 ... They're the same

The beautiful car in front of the silver one is Signal Orange #116

If I were you I'd get a 73' color book and take a good long look at all great colors that were available...

How bout this.... you can always mix and match with different period color bumpers, spoilers, and stripes...

Gulf Blue and Gulf Orange is only one of many, many cool combo's.

The world is your oyster...

Chuck

the color

I have one of the gulf livery cars you saw this year at Rgruppe. I was going to go with Royal Purple/Lilac on the new car because of the rarity but since I am going to race the car I feel it needs to have a little more flash. It needs to be a period correct color of course. The paint book I looked at today shows blood red as a 69-70 color and also says it is tangerine in 70, but the # is 2323 and Tangerine is 018 and was I believe a 71-73 color. Will be selling the gulf car later in the year when the new one is done, if anyone is interested. Thanks for your help w/ colors. Phil

Air-cooled VW Beetle 'Mexican Taxi' ought to be a paint scheme that goes down in history ... not exactly ugly, but pretty audacious!

A 911 in the SAME VEIN from '72 - '73 colors ... would be a conversation piece, to say the least!
