Upcoming fantasy trip to Germany (lots of Porsche stuff)...

Well, I'm now confirmed for a factory tour at Zuffenhausen on the morning of Nov. 18!!! They were closed lat time I was there. After that, I make a nice quick drive down to Pfaffenhausen for a visit to Ruf Automobile GmbH. Then I drink a lot of St. Augustinerbraeu that night in Munich with a friend and the next day I swing by Gmuend on my way to see another friend in Klagenfurt. Wait until you see these photos!!! I'll be back on Dec. 7th, so you'll have to wait until then.

Surely a de-tour to "The 'Ring" is in order ?

Actually, the Ring is further north, which I'll probably be passing by toward the end of the trip. Weather and cash permitting, I'm gonna try to rent a 996 for a day and get in a few laps. For the rest of the trip I'll have a MB Kompressor compact.

Hmmm, Porsches, German beer, and fraulines (sp?), I'm sure Richard will have lots to tell us. Have a great trip!

You might want to look into getting a few laps at the ring with the 'Ring Taxi' service. They have an experienced driver take you around in an M5.

I always thought this would be much safer than trying to figure the course out with so much local traffic.

Jack, I didn't know about that. I'll have to ask some friends there what the best way to do this is. I have a good friend I'm visiting who works at BMW, so maybe she'll be able to hook me up there.

If Glockler is still in Frankfurt they are worth the effort. They had older Porshe racing cars and little things like Bugatti F1's. It has been a long time since I wandered into there car park so they may no longer be in existence. Another place I always like to pass through is Rothenberg o/d Tauber. Have fun.

You looking for a car sitter again? Keep in mind all the TLC and exercise that I gave your old '87 on one of your previous trips. Heck, for the chance to house a 993 for a while I might even consider parking the Benz in the driveway
