no voltage to coil

I have a 1971 911 T. I dont have 12 volts to my coil. The scematic shows feed from the altenator to the coil via a Intermediate unit. also at this point is the wire to the tach. Can anyone tell me what this intermediate unit is and where it is located. Thanks Pete

The coil is usually called a transformer on the diagrams.
Ground (pulsing) from points in distirbutor to terminal C of CDU on left side wall of engine compartment. Terminal B is 12v dc, D is ground and terminal A will send a 300v dc pulse to tag 15 of the "coil". Blue green on a 72.

There are some good diagrams on this site. Once you understand the 14 pin plugs they are easy to use.
