Broken Steering wheel ?

Is this common? The Wheel seems to have separated from the spoke, on the right side. Everytime I hit the gas, the wheel seems like its going to come off on the right side...

Is is it repairable or is it time to find a replacement?

James

Are you serious? I would say that this is not normal and unless it is a very rare wheel, you should replace it asap. Good luck.

Yes it happens, especially in cars that have been tracked, or had nervous drivers that would hold to the wheel with too much force. They can be repaired, but that involves removing the leather, cutting a window in the foam, rewelding the spoke to the rim, then regluing the foam and recovering. It would be worth it only if your wheel is an early 3 spoke with the fat rim and/or the thick steel fat plate center. Otherwise, ditch and replace.
