Question Will my new wheels fit?

Hi guys, I just bought a set of new to me wheels... BBS 16x10 and 16x8 3 piece wheels. They have new Yokohama Avid V4's (245-50-16/ 225-50-16 respectively) mounted on them. I know I will need spacers to fit my 80 SC with stock wheel flares. The question is... exactly what size spacers will I need and will these wheels/tires work? I mocked them up and it looks like they will fill the fenders nicely and they are all black so it will match the car nicely too. The common sizes I am seeing on EBAY (and what I think I need) seem to be 1" and 2" spacers. Thanks, Brian

I may be wrong Brian as I am sure others will chime in but I don't think those wheels will fit unless you have turbo type flares. I don't know of anybody that got 10s on the back without some alteration.

You might post the offset of the wheels to help determine what is needed.

I just went out and measured and the rears are 7.5" offset, measured from the hub contact area to the rear of the rim. I assume this is how to measure the offset. Anyone have some ideas? This is officially a "bump" When "mocked up" it appeared the wheel tire fit well right up to the edge of the current lug bolts, meaning, I lowered the car with the wheel in place and on the ground with the mounting surface touching the lug bolts. The wheel fit up inside the well and didn't appear to hit the oil lines etc... Brian

I wrote this and relized you are running much smaller tires, still some of this might apply.
A 245 on a 10 inch rim sounds a little stretched?

I have 17x10 with 275/40 on the rear with RS flares and 17x8 with 255/40 on the front.
I think I have 6 inches back spacing all the way around. The rears with turbo brakes requires .25 or .5 inch spacers. My fronts have added back spacing for future upgrade to big red front brakes so for now with turbo front brakes it runs a fairly large spacer .75 or a little more.
You will have to reroute your oil lines from the thermostat to the engine for tire clearance, not to difficult.
See pic from my black turbo look, white car is similar.
Also you will have to spot face the spring plate bolts for tire clearance too.
After that is completed add some spacers till you have minimum inside clearance and that will determine how much fender clearance you need to create.
Adding more negative camber creates more fender clearance too.
You may need longer wheel studs if it requires too many wheel spacers.
Then if you go back to your stock Fuchs with the longer wheel studs your stock Fuch aluminum closed end lug nuts will bottom out on the new longer wheel stud. It might be a good time to just switch to steel open end lug nuts.

It is not the correct method to measure o/s. Go here for correct instructions. Just as an aside, a 10" wheel will measure ~11" across.

I will repeat a statement that I have made many times and would really like to clarify. Many have claimed to have 10" rear wheels, none have posted o/s #s.

You are playing w/ fire w/ the 10" wheels. the 3 main factors in fitment are o/s, width and tire dimensions.

I have 9.5" wheels w/ 275/40 tires w/ an 11" section width, they just barely fit after extensive mods such as Ted has described. Here is a pic of the modified wheel well

It is my belief that a 10" would not fit even w/ the same tire as it would stretch the section width just a little bit too much.

Ruf had to widen the rear flares 1"- 2" to fit 10" rims
