Windshield wiper fuse blows
Over time the windshield wipers stopped working. It was a gradual thing, I could jiggle the stalk and they would work, but that finally stopped. Then I noticed that the fuse was blown. Put a new one in, ignition on, it blows immediately. Thinking it's the stalk on the column, I install a new one.
Fuse blows as before. Any ideas? Thanks Shaun

hi,
sounds like wiper shafts rusted into the bearings. stop replacing fuses, next thing to blast is the wiper motor. test in that way: disassemble motor from the rest, new fuse, run; i think this will work. next, try to move wipers by hand (with motor removed); i expect this to be very hard: see above; disassemble shafts, in most cases you can save them; de-rust, clean, polish, lubricate well, that should work for some time. otherwise replace. greets pomaro

the shafts should occasionally be lubed from on top with 3in1 or similar
