Ok, so what is a good place to buy a static wing from? Also, is there a big difference from the fiberglass ones and the original ones?

If you are going to get an aftermarket fiberglass then get an MA Shaw, www.mashaw.com, they advertise in Excellence too. When the "who makes the best fiberglass" threads come up they seem to get mentioned the most. And the price in Excellence is only 450 for a Carrera tail.

I say get an OEM in your color. Call Einmaling...they have good quality stuff from wrecked 911's and they are in Hayward...right in the Bay Area with you.

Either way, I'll give Parts Heaven a call eventually. I have about 3-4 things that need to be done before the wing. (install 930s steering wheel, shifting improvements, siene systems shifter, Steve W chip..)

To swap decklids back-and-forth easily, get seperate hinges for each lid.
Then to remove, pull the hinge pins. That way you don't have to re-align the lid with each swap.

Mike,
You know what is really funny. I have a picture of YOUR car hanging in my cube at work with "goal" written on it. My car did not look like it does now. No wings, no stone guards, not lowered. Which begs the question; what else have you done to your ride? I think I see Euro tail lenses, and possibly upgraded brakes, 7Js up front, polished Fuchs. Sam

I bought a 1976 turbo wing which is made of fiberglass and is one piece. It takes me about 10 minutes to change it out with the original lid, plus the turbo lid looks good on my garage wall when not being used. I only use the wing for DE because I like the wingless look on the street. At DE and on the highway I can feel the difference in the car when I get over 70 MPH.
