Well, first mine looked somewhat like thrown_hammer's, and now it looks like Shaun 84 Targa's: Wheels make a big difference. Tom http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1065105556.jpg |

My car was set up for 7x8x16s and drove great. I used Wheel Enhancement spacers and put the wheels on last weekend. Initially car was a little squirrelly, now feels better that I am getting used to them. They fly on the highway, but I am a little slower around corners, hesitant. Tires are low mileage Pilots. Fuchs had S03's Thanks for your thoughts. Shaun |

When I bought the car it had the BBS's on it, and it was pulling a little to the right, so I already felt that it needed an alignment. My wrench had the set of Cups (Porsche, not aftermarket) from a trade he had done on another vehicle, so he made them available to me. I jumped at the chance. They are 55mm offsets front and rear, so we needed to add spacers, but all worked out fine. I wondered how the ride would be changed going from 16's to 17's. The 16" BBS's had Yokohama ES100 tires, and the 17's had Toyo Proxes T1-S tires. The ride has actually improved with the 17" wheels, even though the Toyo's have a shorter profile sidewall! Not what I had expected, but I am pleased. Have gotten the front alignment done, and may get corner balancing done in the future. Not because I changed the wheels, but just because I have heard of the great things it can do for the handling of the car. First, though, I am going to install the Targa Body Braces I just got last night from Pelican, and see how that tightens things up... Tom |

Thanks Tom and please let me know how the targa body braces go, I've had my eye on them for awhile. |

Red's pretty cool, but I like black the best on the 74-89 Cars. Hides all the rubber trim stuff and especially the accordian bellows things. Mine's red though. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1065119273.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1065119284.jpg |

Are those Simmons wheels Jeff? |
|
KTL, Yes they are. F-Series 17 inch. I know a guy here in town that sells them. Custom made for the car. I love the offsets on the wheels, really emphasizes the larger back tire. They look MUCH better in person (or in a higher quality photo). |

I've tried 3 times to post a pic of my pride and joy, an '87 3.2 Carrera Cab(Guards Red of course). Can anyone help? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1065144636.jpg |

83SC, I think there was something wrong with the server last night/yesterday. I received two e-mail notifications that you had replied to the thread but your post didn't show up. Maybe try again using the "post multiple images" highlight at the bottom of the screen. |

The only thing wrong IMO with red 911s (and white for that matter) is there is just soooooo many of them! I definately prefer more subtle metalics. In the 996s though, red is quite rare and they tend to look good. Kind of the opposite from the impact bumper ones. |
