Guards Red 3.2 Carrera
I seem to remember a thread that indicated by far the majority of 3.2 Carreras were guards red.
Can anyone confirm this? |
I can quite imagine it, 3.2 Carreras being from the 80's.
|
The good ones were red with black cloth tops and plastic rear windows.

They are like Brothers in Arms, Matt. Two of a Kind. :)
|
Guards Red was definitely a popular color during the 80's time frame.
|
you know the bizzare thing is I wanted a red 3.2, but when I looked I couldnt find one, or the ones I saw where very rough. So I ended up with a blue one, do I regret it - of course not!!!
Still like the red ones though :-) |
And mine was "lagun grün" and repainted something similar (in fact a very clear blue hue), the fact that it isn't guards red did NOT keep the automatic camera from catching me speeding last week
|
Every 3.2 Carrera I own is Guards Red - not scientific but nevertheless a worthy statistic!

Man those Fuchs look nice. They gotta be my favorite Porsche wheel of all time. Especially in the 16" diameter and 8 or 9" wide.
|
When mine got the 3.2 Carrera engine it also was painted Gaurds Red. Coincidence? I think not!;)

I never sought a specific color, the red carrera just came upon me. That said, I've seen several ads in the "car wanted" section of Panorama that specifically state "No Red, etc...." for a car they are seeking. I am kind of puzzled by this. Some people can't handle the responsibility of a red car I guess!

Shawn, how was the puppet show?:)

silver or meteor gray was always my favorite until I tripped over this car. Haven't looked back.
