Supporting my car for the winter w/out jack stands.

I'm trying to figure out a way to best support my car for the winter. Jack stands aren't a good option as I only have four and I just had to take the 911 off them so I could change calipers on my S4. That was a pain.

What creative ways have people found to support their car when they need to leave it up for the winter and have to do suspension work?

I was thinking a couple or eight cinder blocks at the four corners of the belly pan, with 2x12's or something across the width of the car to prevent it from getting scratched?

Bad idea? Dangerous? What have people done?

Do not support your car during winter. Your suspension will thank you in the spring.

Bob, my suspension is going to hate me in the spring when I throw it out anyway.

Thats one of the big things I'm doing this winter, replacing it all

I just pump the tires up to 50 psi and store the car. No need to put them on jackstands just 'cause our grandfathers did.

Guys, he needs to support the car because he is working on the suspension over the winter.

Buy more jackstands. Why risk it?

Spring I get it, no pun was intended...

It's worse to leave it suspended than not for the winter, but if you're replacing it all anyway go ahead. The cars are meant to be on their suspension for life, leaving the shocks extended for months at a time leaves them exposed and can lead to deterioration. From everything I have read and people I've talked to don't hang your wheels for the winter. JMHO

Same idea...

Metal milk crates with a 2x6 supporting all the way across...

That was kind of my thought Chris... because I can't find a good spot to put the jack stands that I don't think I may have to get around to do the suspension work.
