Any Targa owners using a carbrella?

Thinking of buying a carbrella but I would like to know your thoughts. Ease of use, is it worth it? I have never folded my original top and really don't want to start now.

Thanks,

Haz

Carbrella is okay for parking in the sun, etc...but a gust of wind will blow it off, as the suction cups are not strong enough, also had one stolen in CA some years back. I just came back & it was gonzo!
Now I carry one of the top covers that go all the way around at the window line - it has three tabs that lock in the decklid gap, and velcro strips for the door handles, mirror(s), and wiper arms. Keeps it cool AND fairly well away from prying eyes as well.. about same $$ as the 'brella as i recall...

This is better than a 'Carbrella' (even for coupes that want to protect their youthful-looking interiors from ol' sol.)

E-mail John Walker, and he'll tell you how to get one.

I use a carbrella and it has always worked fine for me. Never had any problem with wind - typically use it for quick runs to the store or at work in a parking garage when I am too lazy to put the targa roof on. My suction cups work very well and take quite a big pull to get them off. It is about 2 years old so possibly they age and don't stick as will over time.

I've thought about one of those too.

I too am not thrilled with folding and unfolding the top alot, so I comprise by doing a 20% partial fold and put the top upside down under the hood length wise. It fits nicely this way and seems to be quite secure. I don't know if this would work with a short hood.

I'm with Bill & Doug - mine's a light tan, so it reflects even more sun. Folds up nicely into an old soft-sided case that I store in the trunk. I got mine from www.bigskycarcovers.com - I had ordered one from Performance Parts (our host didn't stock them) and the one from PP didn't fit - I think they used a cab as their template and it didn't fully cover the windows like the one pictured above does. The cover from bigsky works great. I think it was something like $69 + shipping.

not the same thing , but anyone knows if there is a fiber glass alternative for the foldup targa top?
during summer the top stays off all the time
during winter on all the time, so a really fixed roof would be handy
i guess it would be possible to fabricate one so it fit's perfectly

I use my Carbrella all the time (bought it this spring) and I like it. I get the suction cups to stick and I've never had the top fly off. It's a good top to put on if you go out to eat, movie, etc... and may have a drop of rain or two and I'm too lazy to put the regular top on. Is it worth the $? in my opinion, it is!

I've got the soft cover like Doug shows for my Targa. I bought it at another accessory shop for about $60. It is made for a Targa and works pretty well.

I like mine...use it for the Sunday drive lunch parking. From a distant it looks semi-stock. Suction cups work well and it does keep out the passing Florida shower. Good product I say.
