Creaking noise from rear.

When I just start to take off in my 80SC, I hear a slight creaking coming from the rear. I read up on CV joint noise on this board and I don't believe that is it. It only happens when taking off. After rolling, the car is quiet, even around corners, on decel, on accel.....

Any ideas?

Just about every start. It does it in reverse as well.

Transmission mounts possibly? Sway bar moving (spray silicone spray at bushing-to-sway bar and retest)?

John

Sounds like the description when my 88 broke a sway bar mount.

I had a similar problem. Found a dried out shock absorber in the rear. So much for the lifetime guarantee on Konis!

I thought it could be that but when I push down on the car I can't hear anything.

Well, I crawled under the car and couldn't see anything noticeable. My CV joints are rock solid and all mounts look good under there. I guess it is some bushings somewhere making noise. I am not going to sweat about it anymore unless it gets worse.

Thanks for all the help!
