What does a wire brush and can of paint get you?
A good lookin' sport muffler! I was having the car tech'ed for driver's ed last week and asked if the shop had any old dual out sport mufflers laying around. "Yes" replies a mechanic. He took it off a '72S he bought because it was too loud and left it laying in his closest ever since. Surface rust all over - maybe factory? Brushed, cleaned and shot with muffler paint. Voila!
![]() How much?? Nada, zippo, nothing! Traded him for an old steel rim and $7 for a can of paint. Woo-hoo!

I've learned the some shop have all kinds of crap laying around that may have little to no value to them...never hurts to ask.
