Finally, Porsche instruments I can read........
Thanks to North Hollywood Speedo no more vertical turn signal blinkers!!! $110 plus shipping to do a custom redial and set the redline at 12:00 o'clock. Rebuilt speedo and redial to 220mph $180. One week to the day on the return. I really like it. Much easier to deal with the tach on the track and now I can actually see the speedo to 140 mph. if the need arises. Only wish my motor was now @ -zero- miles too

Just curious why you went to the 220mph speedo.

Nice, I get bummed when I'm going over 160 and I have no idea of my exact speed. I guess it helps when you get pulled over and are asked "Do you know how fast you were going?" Looks nice though. They do very nice work.

My car is out of gears at 140mph so I am only concerned with that number. I still have another silk screen they are doing for me that may solve the twisted speedo issue just like the tach. But at the moment the 220mph beats the other three calibrations for my use. The way I run the car, the tach at idle and the speedo @ zero both show the indicator arms at 6 o'clock. Tach is great at the moment. (green line is the best torque curve) Speedo still is not exactly what I am looking for. But it is better than the 150 and 180 for me. Here is how I actaully have the car set up and running close to idle. ![]() There is also the thought with 300hp in that new engine and taller gearing.....180 might not be enough ![]() Last edited by rdane; 10-15-2003 at 12:43 PM.. |

There are 3 illumination lights in the tach and 2 in the speedo. When they are all working I don't have a night visability issue. Be cool to have red bulbs to change out to though.

I too have the 200mph speedo. It helps not having to twist/turn the gauge as the 65mph legal mark is easily visible.
I saw NH at the German AutoFest and 'kinda' like the improved lighting they currently offer. |

Is the high beam idiot light visible now?
I kind of like the vertical turn signals. Any passenger's first time in the car always provokes a comment. JP

rdane: since your readline stops at 7k, you should've had them put a skull and crossbones between 7k and 8k

Skull and cross bones...you guys are too funny
7 to 8? Danger, DANGER, Will Robinson! But an SC ain't gonna run much past 6900 anyway. Yes the high beam light is now visable. I turned the oil guage so I can keep an eye on temps. Not much of an issue these days with a B&B in front but never hurts on track days to see what is going on. Here is how I progressed with the guages over the last few months. The typical for a track junkie. ![]() This is a HUGE step in the right direction. ![]() But the track junkies gotta tweek everything. Still not perfect. ![]() Getting MUCH better ![]() Darn near perfect ![]() ![]() Last edited by rdane; 10-23-2003 at 05:23 PM.. |
