3.2 short stoke?
Anyone done this with the bigger 3.2 pistons, 964 cam, SSIs and CIS?
Compression ratio? I am thinking a 9.8:1 and a 3.2 should get you 220hp at the wheels. Anyone have the actual engine I am envisioning? Will 9.8:1 run on typical west coast premium? I was looking at a mild manner, little sister to Iris. Her stats are listed below. Are Randy's numbers rear wheel or flywheel? 330hp at the flywheel?!! Seems like the mods should give the high hp numbers. Engine: 1983 911 SC (bottom end) Built and dynoed by Richard Elverude 3.2 liter(98x70.4),281 HP and 244 ft/lbs torque @ 6100 RPM's,8000 RPM red line, 10.2:1 J-E pistons, Web Cam grind #120-104, 3.2 Carrera heads with high RPM springs and retainers, dual plug, PMO 46mm carbs on tall manifolds,964 distributor custom rebuilt by Mr. Elverude, ARP rod bolts,Elverude aluminuim flywheel with Sach aluminuim pressure plate, Carrera pressure fed tens, twin MSD 6 AL ignition boxes, 930 lower valve covers, SSI heat exchangers, muffler under development(dyno work done with a AJ-USA sport muffler). Dane: I think if you were to go short stroke, to make the best of it, you'd need PMOs or EFI to unleash the potential power.
Per BA, I'd leave the compression at 9.8:1, because that's about the limit with pump gas. I'd also get S cams. If you do this, you'll most definitely need carbs or EFI.

The big question mark is if the CIS can pump enough fuel. I'll let you know in a few weeks. Tom |

Randy's is flywheel hp. Mine with S cams is 270hp flywheel estimate. Like Randy, I have twin plug and lotsa compression. I too have SSIs, regular muffler and EFI with throttle bodies.
I would guess that you might see as much as 220hp at the wheels, but only if the CIS is spot on. It could be as low as 200hp. But I'm really only guessing.
