refinish window trim?
I want to refinish the door/ rear qtr etc window trim on my 73 coupe. I have been told these parts are polished aluminum that then has some sort of clear coat applied before it is anodized. Does anyone know what this clear is that makes it shinny and where it can be done?? Thanks Phil

I understand that they are gloss anodised (as opposed to satin/matt, which is what early Fuchs are). The quality of whatever you have anodised is defined by how pretty it looks before anodising.

I have heard it called "bright-dip anodizing." This is part of the process that would be done by the anodizer. You would need to have the existing anodizing removed, parts polished to a mirror finish, and then bright-dip anodized.
