Engine R&R - How Long?

This would be my first 911 engine drop. 85 Carrera.

How much time does it take to drop an engine and then reinstall.

I can R&R a 914 engine in less than 3 hours....

first time to drop give yourself 5 hours including dropping the engine and tranny as a unit and following the Bentley manual. This is from when you start jacking the car up to having the engine/tranny on a dolly. Longer is some bolt fights you.

I'd guess 4 for the drop and 6 for the install the first time.
The first time UTKarmann_Ghia and I dropped his (82) it took about 3 hours for the drop only. I've helped/done 5 drops/installs this summer My last was this weekend and I did it by myeslf (although the 74 is much easier). I had it down to about 2 hours for the drop and 2.5 for the install.
That all assumes that all your bolts come off and that nothing breaks. If anything goes wrong you'll spend twice that time finding or repairing parts.
