Scott from Pasadena auto body bought this great poster at the auction, now the question how to get it home ? because he drove his RS clone and I don't think the poster came with a roof rack.

To all da boyz.....
I get it !!!!!!! Also it was a pleasent surprise that our very own "Mid-West Gruppmeister" Curt Egerer who was out on biz and as Sam caught on film above, in attendance. Curt, I think you will have to make your way out to Monte-Rey this next May for R yearly get together. I think it's a mandatory attendance thing for all "Regional Gruppmeisters" Great early 911 type of Day !!!!!

Thanks for the pics. I was going to attend the event, but something came up. Besides the fine gathering of RGruppe cars, were there other P-cars there for the event? The advertising flyer i saw mentioned 500 cars planned for viewing.
thanks Mike '86 coupe

The turnout was very disappointing. We arrived late and I wwas afraid seating might be limited. It was a surprise to see so few cars and people. I would have thought they would have been able to find a 917 somewhere, but I think the ball may have been dropped on marketing the event. Mike H. who owns the 914 that was parked in the front. had to hard sell the idea that that specific car would be a plus to their event. The 911 in the courtyard was a piece of history, but watching that 914 in the actual race footage was cool. Rossi's "Martini" car looked great, a long labor of love and sweat.
For some of us it was a nice evening with cars and friends, but not at the race track. |

Hmmmm, it is so ironic that Curt Egerer managed to plan a family vacation in SoCal just in time to "happen" to take in this event.
As long as the wife fell for it I guess

Curt..from Michigan..
Curt showed up unexpected..great guy and very worthy Rgruppe member. The event would have been "un-eventful" had the rgruppe not showed in #'s..too bad. I spoke to a member who owns a "owiginal" 911R and he was told that his car need not attend...WTF ???

Thanks Sam for the great pictures! I think a good time was had by all in attendance although better promoting would have made it a larger event. It was fantastic for me talking to and getting autographs from one of my all time favorite drivers Vic Elford!
Certainly the R Gruppe put its best foot forward by making a sizable donations in the charity auction for the Boy's Republic program for kids, the school that Steve Mc Queen attended as a boy. Next year will be even better! All the best! Roger Grago R Gruppe #27 |

Highlight of the evening for me was getting a ride from Vic Elford in the Cayenne towing the 911 racer. Woo hoo!
Anyone know the name of the gentleman on the far right of the Q&A panel? I didn't catch what his name was when they did the introductions. I did catch that he was associated with Vasek Polak.
