I have read in a few spots that, if you are not going to put the car on stands, that tire pressure should be set at 45 psi for storage purposes.
Do I risk any damage by driving a short distance (1-2 miles) from the gas station where I would fill the tires to 45 psi to my home? Dean 88 911 Coupe |

None whatsoever.
I just read in my handy Bridgestone Data book this quote: "For safety reasons, Porsche raised the recommended inflation pressure from 36 to 44 psi for the following cars: 911, 911 Turbo, 928S, 944, 944 Turbo. This change became effective from the 1985 model year." |

Thanks
For day to day use, is there a sole out there who is actually taking such a recommendation seriously? Looks like CYA for liability reasons.

Dean,
I have used 50 psi on stored vehicles' tires & wheels for years ... no problems!
