Ticking Sound from the Front

In driving my new baby, I have noticed a ticking sound from the front at low speeds. The ticking is related to speed, it gets slower as I slow down. I don't know at what point it might stop because as I go faster I can't hear it over the engine.

Some additional data:
- The PO records indicate a recommendation for new brakes (confirmed by the PPI) but it also recommends a bearing re-pack. Might that be source?

Thanks
Steve

kinda obvious but make sure all your lugnuts are tight....had the same clicking/ticking as you describe after brake pad install and forgetting to tighten lug nuts.

Is the ticking sound coming from the dashboard area or farther forward ? I've noticed a ticking sound in the dash area of my 82sc. I'm only guesing(I have bigger things to fix) but thinking it is speedo related

LOL
I bought an '82 SC last week and it was doing the same thing the whole trip home (760 miles).

Too funny... yup, most likely it's the counter.
Just remove the spedo and unplug the counter box.
