I'm loosing power after warmed up

I'm working out the bugs one at a time.

I just finished installing a rebuilt 1980 3.0L into my 77 and this is my problem. At first I thought it was overheating ( the temp sensor was bad,I think) . The gauge says 260 ,but I measured all around the engine with a touchless digital temp gun and the readings are 180-200. But once it reaches these temps it slows way down.

It does not backfire, spit or sputter ,it just seams to loose power. I can press it to the floor and it doesn't take off as it does while cool.
Can this be the distributor or WUR. This engine has a 80 O2 setup without a sensor, does the control box change anything once it senses the temps are warm?

Thanks for any input or thoughts.
Rick

With the ignition on and the motor not running, can you hear the Frequency Valve humming in the engine compartment.

Also, have you check/adj the fuel pressures associated with the WUR?

Yes I did check the frequency valve and it was hard to tell but it seemed to be humming.
I don't have a way to adjust my WUR .

More comments is welcome.

Thanks
Rick

Well the temp gauge might be because you have mismatching temp sensor and gauge cluster. If you have the labeled temp gauge instead of the regular non labeled sc/carrera but the sensor on the sc motor is still meant for the non labeled gauge then the gauge mismatch will make your readings way off. As far as you warm up power loss, check your mixture after you've reached operating temp. If your cars backfiring, usually that a sign of being to rich but i'm not sure.
