You're talking about swbsam.

He had a nasty accident a few months ago. Totalled his Porsche, and darn near killed himself in the process. I saw him just before the German Auto Fest, and he was doing great. He has a gorgeous new car, too.

Also, he lives in the Claremont area, which has been hit hard by wildfires recently. We can only hope he's OK.

It hasn't been a great year for Sam!

He last posted this morning. He lives near Pomona, so I imagine he's been keeping an eye on the horizon line a lot.

And he's a damn handsome man to boot!

Glad you're still around Sam. Hopefully the fires won't cause you any major problems.

I got the marshmellows out on saturday night about 1:00AM but the fire stopped about a half a mile away, and I didn't feel like walking that far to make smores, very scary.

FWIW, weather guy on Oregon local TV last night said a wind/weather change will be hitting sou cal before too long, helping the fire effort. Patterns are changing here, with an arctic front predicted for tomorrow...If I could, I'd send our rain this morning your way. Sam? Good to hear you're okay. Damn, what a tragedy down there...simply horrible.

Unfortunately this is a mixed blessing. The cool offshores will help the Simi Valley fire but will fuel the Old fire in the San Bernardino Mountains and the High Desert. Evacuations have started in Hesperia and the increasing wind is already making a bad situation worse.

Looks like BBRIV might not be as scenic.

Great to hear you are OK Sam. Call if things change and you need some help.

I'm up for BBRIV wherever you hold it!

I am in the Bay Area until tomorrow, and they are saying snow in the foothills here Friday!
