AC Delco Rapidfire Platinum plugs?
Anyone try AC Rapidfire plugs out? The guys on the Corvette BBS swear by these over NGK, Bosch, Champion, Beru, Autolite, ND, etc... Just bought a set for my wife's Corvette, not installed yet.
I put some in my Ford truck and they did make a minor difference, mainly in the midrange and top end. I just ordered a set for the '87 Carrera, and will pull the NGK Iridiums which I found unimpressive. Problem with the AC Rapidfire plugs is the scant info. available. I found AC #4 seems to be the right plug. |

It's not so much the plugs, but Corvettes do not use Beru ignition cables, the later ones do not have ignition cables at all, instead they have a direct ignition system with a coil mounted on each plug and some may even have a coilpack ignition system.
If you eliminated the Berus, the weak link on your 87 ignition system and convert to noise suppression cables, you might be able to take advantage of the AC Rapidfire plugs. |

Yes, I use them in 2.4 MFI and they seem to burn cleaner than other plugs I've used. Needless to say I'm sold on them.
