Pete,
I don't remember all the names of the shippers, but several of them advertise in high-line car mags like Panorama, Excellence, La Forza and DuPont Registry, especially DuPont. If you don't already have these just make a trip to Barnes & Noble mag rack and copy some names from DuPont. I've heard good things about Horseless Carriage. I used Intercity once and it was just okay. You will be at the mercy of when they have someone in your neck of the woods to pick it up and where else that driver is going along the way. You'll need to allocate +/- half a week on both sides. Your price will depend mainly on whether you put it on an open or enclosed hauler (the latter being at least 2x higher). When I did enclosed about 5 years ago the price from NJ to TX was around $500 for open, $1100 for enclosed. Most of the good names will carry their own insurance, which is something you want to ask explicitly. Good luck

I just shipped with DAS (Bay to Mich $1100) with unfortunately a negative result.
They shipped enclosed, were on time, wary of the spoiler, clean and professional in communication. Unfortunately, the car sat in a desert lot for over three weeks and I had sand engrained deep in what was left of the fresh two coats of wax I had applied right before shipping. What was worse was light surface scratches all over the top and sides like someone leaned/sat on the dirt. There was a to-the metal door-open scratch on the side, and somehow the headliner(replaced over a year before) had been pulled/melted off of the opening and was hanging down inside. Without buying $200 insurance, the liability is limited to $150($250-100) and you have a month to fill out the paperwork. Another high end shipper is Intercity Lines. Also do a search here for transporters.

Pete, to help simplify your decision, I used Intercity several years ago. It certainly wasn't a negative experience, just a bit of a pain on their communications to me of when the pickup/dropoff would occur. You're getting a fairly unanimous positive view of Intercity. The most important thing, by far, is that the car arrives in good shape and mine did. Pay up for enclosed. On open trailer, they're taking up to (what?) 6 cars and juggling the schedule. With enclosed, they carry only 2 or 3. They'll pick-up/drop-off at your house (or other trusted place) rather than some depot/lot (which is what I'm guessing happened to John).

I used Intercity. THey showed up in an enclosed trailer, 2 stories, big enough for 6 cars, with a lift gate so they don't even have to drive your car up the ramp. Worth the money.

Registering in florida is easy.
Just bring your papers, id and checkbook to any tag office. If you are weary of shipping the car I might be interested in a cross country drive if you are willing to pay for the plane ticket and expenses. ![]() |

To register your out of state car in Florida, you must bring your car to the DMV they double check your VIN number and that is it, no inspections of any kind.
Moving to Palm Beach county? need a new home? You will definitely need a three car garage because of the heat. My home is on the market: http://www.kimberlyjoy.com/annan.htm

i used ariesauto transport
i used a yahoo search for auto transport. and i ended up using a company called aries auto transport. turns out they are just a broker for a bunch of independently owned transport trucks. Jimmy's superior ended up being the specific trucking company. other than being late, the outfit worked great. i admit i let cost be the major factor. i got $699 from texas to the san fran bay area for a non running 911. things worked out great. everyone gives out free quotes. i would start with YAHOO!
check their insurance!!! |

I live in Jupiter, FL and just purchased a C2 Turbo from Colorado Springs. I used Rocky Mountain Transport. They did a timely and damage free job for $775(thats including $100 for Able Transport acting as a broker). Give RMT a try. Call Dorinda at 888-302-9214.
Good luck.

I have used Intercity lines to move cars and bikes from PA the CA and back. I have used them a total or 3 times and they were totally professional. I would recommend them to anyone. NO affiliation
