Bilstein Inserts to Boge Strut question
I installed new Bilstein inserts into the original Boge struts on my 86 this morning.
All went well as the job is straightforward and simple. I took a little test drive and the car handles the dips in the roads much better. Cant wait to put the rear Bilsteins on... Q) The Boge inserts had a big rubber grommet-type thing under the dust cover. The new Bilsteins did not have this big rubber grommet. Is the rubber grommet needed on the Bilsteins? The Bilsteins didnt come with it, so I just put them on as is.  Thanks.

Nope, the Bilsteins are made differntly, so they don't need it.
