Need advice. Headlights, rocker panels etc...

First I want to thank my Pelican friends who sufferred with me through my nearly disastrous 3.6 project. The nightmare is over and the car runs and sounds better that I ever imagined.

Unfortunately, I have the urge to continue messing with my car. I currently have H4 lights in my US housings. At first I hated the look of the "euro" lights, but they are beginning to grow on me. Essentially the euro lights look like the US lights that have been circumcized. Whatever. Anyway, if I change the lights, I might as well send new rocker panels to the painter. I don't really want the no-rocker-panel look. Which panels might look OK on my car?

Again, thanks for your help!

I have been following your car for months. I want to put C2 rockers on my 79 targa. I folw a set in LA for $300. I think they will look better than the rubber. Do you think a body man can fill the opening left by the rubber?

I'm never going to be able to touch my lenses again...

In spite of the allusion to the big snip, I prefer the H4 look. Much more teutonic looking to me than those untrimmed rings

Sorry, I still like the uncut version. When it comes to headlights I mean. Automotive ones.

And let me take this opportunity to express my opinion about body beauty. The old XK jags looked like an airplane fuselage on the side. Same with the 550 Spyder. The body curves under at the bottom.

Today's cars are entirely different. Body panels point straight down, as far as the vendor/owner dares. Like a skirt.

So, to me (here comes)....it's the difference between driving a bullet, and driving a BRICK. Aesthetic-wise. I don't care that bricks are all the craze. I don't care that researchers have determined that bricks are more aerodynamic. Don't care.

I prefer the bullet look.

The rocker panels on a C2 doesn't make the car look like a brick in my opinion. The is no judging for taste, but the rubber and plastic on my 79 needs to go

I have a '86 Carrera with the H4 type headlights. My problem is they leak and rust. Is ther a method to eliminate water in the headlight buckets? I removed the headlight and hardware to clean and repaint it even added rust proffing but a no leak solution would be better. Any advice?

Mine had rust in them also. I took steel wool to them and had them re-plated and work as well as they look

No need. The rocker panels cover it up.

the rockers in the picture looks like it is one piece. I want to add a real set, but I do not know how to mount them. Some guys recommend glue, but I don't want to put epoxy on the body. any suggestions

Might I suggest this look for the headlights?

I'm not a big fan of rockers but if you go that route BW had some nice ones w/ brake cooling ducts incorporated.

Thanks Bill. Beautiful car by the way! I think I'll have to go with the euro-H4's. I'll paint the trim rings. Maybe add 993 mirrors, rocker panels... (I've GOT to stop.)

How do you access the T-bars when you use 964 style rockers?

BTW Bills car is the look to go for IMHO. Definately change the lights.
