car leveling for tranny fluid change
Hello,
It seems to me that in order to change out the transmission fluid it is necessary to have the driver side rear wheel removed and said side jackstanded. The problem I see here is that with the jackstand in place, the car is no longer level. I presume level is the way the car would sit on level ground. Anyone have a clever way of safely leveling the car with the rear wheel removed. The "safely" constraint would be something as safe as a jackstand(s) thus allowing me to get at the transmission without worry of the car dropping on me. Thanks. Carlton '84 Carrera |

Jackstands supporting all 4 corners? Even if one corner is off the stand, what happens? It falls down ON the stand...not your body.

Too big to fail

I jack up the driver's side, fill up the trans until it comes out, put a pan under the car, lower it until it's almost level, wait a few, then lift it back up and install the plug.

Bill,
Those tires look like Dunlop Sport 9000's. Do you like them? I've had a set on my 911 since last fall and I really like the way they hold the road, wet or dry.
