Black is ually Boge, Green = Billstein. Someone correct me if not.

Most likely Boge but the good news is that the rears can be replaced with any of the available brands. The whole thing is changed. The fonts are a different story.

Sure looks like a Boge. Rear shocks and front strut inserts are an easy install.

If you remove the crud...the name stamping on the body should suddenly *appear*, now, shouldn't it ? .....

I agree should be there once cleaned, but if I remember correctly, when I took my rear shocks out, the stampped 'BOGE' was on the top of the strut. I'm pretty sure it is hidden up inside the strut tower.

For refrence, my BOGE's looked just like the ones in the picture.

Just checked the OEM Boges that came off my 88. The Boge logo is stamped on the UPPER shroud, but very near the bottom. Should be visible with the shock installed. It is unusual that it's not stamped on the main (lower) tube.
