Targa side seals need replacing?

When the roof's on, the windows in my Targa don't lay flat against the side of the rollbar seal in the back. I'm wondering if it's because the seal shrank back or it has to do with the top sagging - it needs to be replaced. Can any of you all post a photo of this area on your Targa so I can get an idea of what it shoud look like.

Thanks!

mine need replacing and they are not causing what yours is, that said let us know how you diagnose the problem as I am thinking of doing the seals and re-finnishing the bar.

Would you refinish the bar and not paint the rest of the car? My bar (and wheels) need a little paint, but I could survive on the body for a while...

I will try and post some photos later this week, to fully illustrate what the heck I'm talking about.

my car is a garage queen always had been, it has one large scratch in the hood that Im toying with getting fixed, i have a guy that does OEM paint work for three prosche dealers in the bay area who says he can do it no problem.

But in essense yes only the bar and the seals, which in my car are the reason the windows dont lay flat and I get annoying wind noise.

Refinishing the bar is relatively easy and can be done on or off the car (I left mine on the car when I did it). It made a world of difference in the appearance of my '85, which had a very faded, almost gray/black finish on the Targa bar before I redid it. I used Wurth's Satin - there's a tech article here on doing it with the bar on the car - very instructive and easy to follow.

Steve911:

What is the official color of your car? It looks similar to mine, but more red.

Sharp looking car!
