I've got to ask; why? . . ..CF is a far cry from a "padded" dash. IMO, CF is great stuff, but has no place in an interior, where violent contact between humans and the CF may take place. (imagine swbsams wreck with a broken half of a CF dash pointed into the passenger compartment) Interior components should bend (absorb energy) not snap. . . CF snaps, rather than bend. I wouldn't have any part of making a CF dash happen. If your customer wants really light weight, just rip the whole dash out. If they want the bling look, get some sticky-backed faux CF (print).

Dave: I'm with Island on this one. As a lawyer, I wouldn't want to see you install something that later becomes an issue in an accident. The interiors of those cars are Spartan enough, don't have modern safety features (i.e., airbags), and the last thing you should be doing is installing a CF dashboard that could increase the risk of injury in a crash. My advice...let the customer take the car elsewhere if he/she is adamant about a true CF dash. Scott

Thanks guys- it was a thought to get the look. the original pad was looking tired and the client will be having race belts anyway, so the idea of zoomy look cf was brought up.

This co. has a real c/f that is encased in vinyl and can be ordered with adhesive backing. This stuff can be heated to fit compound curves. you can even make seatcovers out of it. Advanced engineered fabrics 949/770-0887 brian Jerry | ||
