Dumb Heat question on my SC

Well I joined the scwdp plot yesterday buy buying a 78 Targa. My dumb question is what is the handle and knob on top of the box between the seats for?? I suspect it is for the rear defroster but not sure. Thankfully there is a sticker in the jockey box to explain the dash controls. Let me know I have to drive it home this am Portland to Spokane in the rain.

If you setup is the same as mine, then the handles are separate climate control for each passenger, believe it or not. Anyhow, the knob will control the amount of airflow, and when you pull up on the levers, you'll be allowed to regulate the airflow as well for each side.

I put my lower lever on the dash in the middle, which allows for the heat to come out of the dash/windshield area as well as the floor wells.

Congrats!!, and have fun.

regards,

The handles next to the parking brake are the heater control, left drive side/right passenger side.
Hints for Defogging and Defrosting-- (owners manual)
Move upper and center levers in dashboard to extreme left.
Move lower lever in dashboard to extreme right.
Pull heater control levers on tunnel all the way up.
Stay warm
