3.6 Install - It's Alive!
Real quick update, I post more tomorrow.
Great day, and great bunch of guys came over to help. We started at 10:30 and didn't have ignition until 6 PM. Unfortunately, most of the guys had to leave before we heard the angels sing. What a beautiful song it was! From this... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1070165379.jpg To this! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1070165389.jpg I’m getting up at the crack of dawn to finish putting everything back together. I hope to be on the road by noon. The strange glow in the sky will from my big $hit eatin’ grin that should take the rest of the year to fade. |
Nice...
BTW, the car looks like it's levitating! :) |
Cool, soon to be kicking Ingo's butt at a stop light near you.....
Did ya use one of those crappy NBD chips???? %^B |
Why does Ingo have the smallest glass???? He needs a large German stein! Jeez everything looks clean and new. Beautiful work!
Glad to hear that its going well and under its own power! Looking at stuffing mine in on Sunday or Monday but in no hurry to lie it up. Still not sure about the wiring and do not want to blow a DME so will take it slow and sure. JoeA |
cool!

Ya, Ingo - what's up with that dainty glass? :p
Congratulations Ryan, looks clean. |

You guys did a hell of a job!!! I can not quit looking at the pics as it looks like a freakin dinner table, it is so damn clean.
Were there any major mods ( going from 3.0 to 3.6) in putting this engine in?? koo |

The down and dirty… Upgrade oil cooling All new exhaust Wiring for the DME Engine cross mount modified Fuel lines Flywheel Clutch Throttle And a hundred other little details There is a conversion kit available, I did not use it. The cost is about the same if you use it or not. I was able to make many improvements over what I would have had if I had used the kit. I have tons of info that I need to organize and put up on a website and I plan to do that soon. Thanks for being there till the end and the great pics Max. |
Again....that is an awesome job!! I can really appreciate the dedication as you have listed a few above.

What kind of sound pad material is that, Ryan? |
thats far too clean, puts my threads to shame :(
looks great, very impressive. oh, and who's dawn? :D |
Great job - you got to be proud of all the work and the way things have come together.
Good luck with the first drive! |
Great job Ryan, Now it's time to go dirty that 3.6 up :D
Can't wait to see it at the next BBRIV. Looks like you could operate off that engine! Rick |
Ingo,
The way you and MikeZ drive around SB, its only a matter of time. Carry a lot of cash and hopefully a "get out of jail free card" and hope the fine is not too high. Glad you did not get nicked this time out! Ryan, Cannot wait to hear how you like the dual oil coolers in each front fender. So far I have not changed mine from the stock unit in my 85. Was going to put a second one up front on the nose but a second one in the left hand fender looks interesting as well. JoeA |

Joe, I drove around w/ the two oil coolers for about two months w/ the 3.0. I’m anxious to see how they do w/ the 3.6. Ingo, you nut! I'm glad you got home ok. Thanks for everything! |
