911R lamps

Ive seen the rears available here occasionally. Ive had no luck on the fronts at all. Does anyone have either a source or a substitute part that can be used for the front lamps?

Are these unobtanium, or is there a substitute available? Im not looking for a concourse perfect part, just something that maintains the simple look and is functional.

where can I get the middle lense or light assembly that will show my reverse back up lights like the ones below?

I know this has been covered in the past. I just haven't seen anything posted in a while and was curious if anyone has found a definitive source for the front lamps or has a suggestion for a decent substitute part.

Any help is appreciated.

Those lamps look a lot like those used on the NSU TT. Perhaps there is a bbs for that community you could ask where they get their parts.

Shuie, I can provide you with any of the 911R rear lamps you require - in fact the picture you've used in your posting above showing the grp backing with red & amber/white lamps was taken by me !!

As for the front lamps, I have a few sets at the moment (not for sale) & have been trying to find a regular source of these but they are proving to be very difficult to find. I'm now investigating the possibility of having them made.

Shuie,

I have one small front lamp in white (like in your picture) and also one small lamp in orange. They are not for sale, but I checked the part no. on them in case that helps.

The white one is marked SWF (the brand), part no. K ww 4005. (actually it is not two w-letters but one "wave-like" line).
So SWF is a replacement part for the Hella unit (I assume Hella is the original manufacturer), but could be even harder to find for all I know.

The orange one is a Hella, part no. IGM.0133IL1 , also marked with the letter A inside a circle and the numbers 2151.
If you know the part no. on the Hella in white, please post it.

I have seen them used as interior lights on some old cars here in Europe, but last time was many years ago...

the long orange lens was used on the nsu prinz front. they are no longer available. a belgian pelican member helped us source a used set for a real R owner and they were very expensive, by the time shipping and duty was done. We are in the process of making molds for the front lamp receptacles and costing the price of the orange lenses. the supports will be made from grp and will be available after we finish our new molds for the rear supports. The rear supports will be very close to perfect and are made for 69-89 model cars. sorry swb owners, no plans for the moment on making new molds for your smaller lamp openings- i suppose you can shave our units down to fit though- these will be available by thanksgiving

btw- nsu TT rears are NOT the same as 911R lamps. andyboy, that posts here , has a good price on the lamps

I have the ability to cast the lenses in clear or tinted urethane. In a former life I did this for many detroit OEM's and I still have the nessary equipment. In fact I manufacture the replica "twin plug" rotors (using the same method) that Andial is now selling. Only downside is that the molds typically only last for 20 to 25 parts.

Cheers, Paul

Dave (TRE) - next time you're looking for a set of amber front lamps - especially if they're going on an original 911R - it's always worth contacting me. I occasionally get NOS lamps (I have a pair earmarked for my own car) & they're not expensive (not from me anyway!).

Let me know when your R rear lamp backings are ready & please reserve a pair for me.

What is the going rate for the front lights - both the yellow one and the funny white one?

That's the pic I was looking for...what are the functions? Yellow is a blinker...is there a running light in there as well? What is the white light for?

It's obvious to me that what we need here is a collaboration w/ Paul and TRE to make a run of the front amber lights! Paul casts the lenses and TRE makes the plates and we get 20 people to buy them. I'm down for one set!

Rear 911R supports are done and here. What we've done is to sandwich the fiberglass support in between the lamp bases and the lenses. This allows a very tight fit and finish. they install perfectly on 69-89 chassis and with some edge sanding- 65-68 models. Contact me directly at info@tremotorsports.com for more details.
Fronts are still in process and we'll post when they are done
thanks!

I can attest to that. They're very nice, Dave. I would say they fit like a "hand in glove," but if that statement got Michael Jackson in trouble, think of what it might do to me.
