Back in a 911, and joined the SCWDP

After 2 whole years of selling my 84-Cab, I am now back in a porsche, a 1980 911SC coupe, 180K miles, flawless exterior and clean interior. The engine is strong, and does not leak any oil. Not bad for $8500. I was hoping for a carrera but my budget did not allow. Here is a pic for your viewing pleasure, and a few questions:

1. My AC compressor is toast, do I need it running in order to evacuate the system prior to removal the AC system. Light is good.

2. Where the hell is the opening from the trunk to the exterior so I can vent my battery?

3. I will be driving it for a month just to make sure nothing else needs servicing, and then I will drop the engine in January for serious cleaning. Anyone in the Bay Area cares to lend a hand to steady the engine as it comes down?

I don't think that quote will fly too well with the SCWDP. Its really a thinly veiled cult whose members are discouraged from pursuing outside (unapproved) pursuits that might jepordize their testimony.

Yup

That is the dakar yellow M3 in the far background, now siting outside for a while. The grocery getter never deserves a garage spot. The other garage spot is occupied by the Ferrari

I'd be glad to help with the drop. I could use the refresher before tackling my own next spring.....

The SC is light blue metallic, I was told it is Diamond Blue.
The Ferrari is Rosso Corsa, Red.
Dakar yellow for the M3. That means I now have all the primary colors in the rain bow.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the SCWDP. SCs are great, reliable cars.

Good luck with your engine drop.
