Disconnected wiring block

Hi chaps,

I just forund a wire disconnected in the luggage compartment. I wonder if anyone knows what it is for?

The outer sheathing is Brown, which contains six very thin wires which are red, blue, yellow, white, black and green colours. These terminate in a white block connector which has two rows of three male spades.

It is located behind and below the intensive screen wash bottle and looks as if it should connect to something behind the glovebox?

My car is a standard UK right hand drive car without A/C. I cannot see the other half of the connector. Perhaps it is buried deep somewhere? Or could this just be a spare bit of loom for an accessory that I don't have?

Everything appears to work OK, except for the intensive wash. But there are wires connected to the wash pump.

Thanks for any suggestions. I just would like put my mind to rest.

Mark

Yes it's in the 89.
I will: a) try my hand a photography, b) try my hand at scanning and c) attempt to learn how to post pics, over the weekend.

Don't expect too much though. I am no David Bailey! LOL

"maybe this diagram can help"

It can't hurt Ronin. Many thanks for that. I will go out and check later today.

BTW. Why didn't Porsche locate all the relays in the same place? It seems like everywhere I look, theres another bloody relay lurking in the darkness! LOL

Perhaps it is a weight saving technique? Or maybe stocks of wire were on short supply in ze farzerland back then?

I can only guess that because,

the "same" car was developed over so many years that they simply added electrics to the same original system by adding another wire harness. Which makes it easy to backdate.

That would make sense I guess. Cheaper than reinventing the loom over and over.
