Need Pics of Early Slate Grey P-Car

Anybody have pics of early slate grey P-cars. I'm seriously thinking of changing the color of my car. Thanks, Sam

Is this the non-metallic gray that Saab is using recently?

Here's a great big sample:

Ah, yes. One of my favorite Rgruppe cars, (same one that Jack has above), McQueen's choice of color for his street car:

In the same issue of excellence that Jack's car is in there is an article about the 2003 912 rendezvous. They mention a slate grey car winning an award. Was slate grey a factory color?

Wow that car has a bad exhaust leak at the manifold

Joking aside, what about the new 996 colour "Seal grey"? I've seen a 1969 rebuilt to 964 look painted in that colour. Very very good looking!

Here is another shot of the '67 Slate Gray 'S' that Denis and Jack posted. The owner is behind the car. This car was originally ordered and owned by Walter Cunningham, one of the Apollo program astronauts. One of my favorite colors.

I love that color! I saw one the other day and it's very nice!

Jens,

Thanks for sharing this. Sure looks like Donohue but I have never seen a Sunoco car that wasn't painted in 'Sunoco Blue'. Cool.

And to think Curtis had the opportunity to buy Steve's car at one time...

Here's another slate gray 911 - a '67S - along with a Conda Green '71S. Two of my favorite colors.

Another option? Buy a January issue of R&T. There is a centerfold pic of 911 models over the years. The best looking one (yeah, I'm prejudiced) is a 1964 911, slate gray with red interior...it's a Porsche museum car, so the color should be accurate?

"Accuracy" of colors in photos is a joke, Jack's and my photos are of the same car on the same day and mine looks 3 shades lighter.

Lighting and camera settings definetely play a part. I just wanted to get a genereal idea of the color. I really like it and am leaning towards it. Thanks, Sam
