I can't determine AFR from the NB02 sensor output, but I can clearly see that you are running very very rich. Not sure if this is the reason for the missing 80Hp though. Below is a plot of O2 voltage vs RPM for your WOT run. Anything above 0.5v is rich.

I'd say dial the VE back until you get about 0.8v across the WOT run. Your other option is the get a WB02 and gain better insight into the AFR.

Also in the datalog you were still in "Warmup enrichement" mode. It was adding about 5-10% more fuel. I guess your engine wasn't fully warmed up.

Make sure you're getting an accurate/reasonable temp reading from your sensor. Should be pretty close to ambient temp before you start it up. Doesn't have to be accurate, but close would be good. If the sensor connections aren't done correctly, the Megasquirt will think its very cold. Don't ask me how I know.

It's tough to get an O2 sensor much above 1V, so something looks a bit funny with the data...

Porsche Crest Great News Running EFI

The CIS Nightmare Is Over!!! The car starts, as it should!! I’m running EFI on my 1981 911 SC, now I know what a 911 SC should feel like!!!

This was a Complete Satisfaction, No Regrets! kit from BITZ Racing! If you want the best CIS to EFI conversion kit then this is the one to buy, the installation was a breeze, the tech support was unsurpassed, the installation guide was marvelous!!!

I kept the original Porsche CIS look in the engine compartment, and it was a very easy install without any glitches. The throttle response is exhilarating, the power is very pronounced, no comparison to the CIS sluggish response. The engine actually starts without any issues, hot or cold, as it should! I’ve been driving it straight for couple of weeks and it runs great!!!

I will not hesitate to recommend this kit to anyone, ABSOLUTELY NO DISAPPOINTMENTS HERE!!! Thanks Again Tony!

I'm next. I just spent another couple hundred on my CIS system with another new P-car wrench and it's still not doing well. Europa your install looks GREAT! I was hesitant to chop up my engine compartment but yours looks like the EFI was there all along.

Thanks Scott!

I tried to keep it stock looking as much as possible,
but the new airbox cover deffinetely blew my cover!
So to speak...
I'm trying to squeeze all the HP out of my 3.0.
My latest is to convert to an Porsche OEM short shifter, I hear it makes such a big difference in shifting. I'll post pics when I get to it.

Scott don't hesitate buy the CIS to EFI kit you will LOVE IT!!!
Tony is alot of help and a wealth of information, he really knows his product!

Thanks,
Mike

What's the plan at smog time? I am still seeing if people pass w/o issues. You should, unless you have a Porsche expert smog tech.

So far my CIS is doing great. I think if it works, it is a decent system. I agree, that when it's old and needs a lot of help, you probably are better off replacing it with EFI.

Hi George,
We do not have smog testing issues here in NC, I believe the cutoff point is 1991 or '92, so an '81 911SC is not an issue. In any case the 3.0 is running great, thanks to Bitz Racing for the EFI conversion.

Thanks Mike. For some reason, I thought you are in CA, and didn't check your location.

No problem George.

I know the smog issue is real tough in CA, I don't know how you'all manage out there. Fortunately NC is OK. Not too long ago I purchased a 1978 Land Cruiser that was CA smogged that had all kinds of exhaust reactors, etc. what a mess! But then again clean air is very important.

Here is tony's kit on a 2.7L turbo on my 76'. the car just screams now. No smog check's in Ohio, and as you can see it doesn't look at all like CIS. I am considering selling it this winter and doing the same to a 3.2 or 3.6 on the car.

Mike,
The car is actually a 76' with a 2.7L turbocharged motor. I would probably sell the car for 15k as it is. I don't know what I could get out of just the motor. I just rebuilt the whole motor, turbo,EFI, MSD about 500 miles ago. I am going to put it on a dyno next week to see what it will do.

Oscar, not to get off topic here but I would be very interested in knowing more about your turbo setup, i.e., is it a BAE or custom setup.
You can email me if you prefer at mvanwyk at sbcglobal dot net. Thanks!

It started out as a BAE set up, but I had to change it when I went to the BB headers,(shortenned). I did the rebuild myself, but had the heads done locally and the case was sent to Tenessee for timecerts and line bore...
