Shock combination
Would there be any reason why you'd go with two different shock combinations between your front and rear shocks? This is a SWB car (68) with a more modern SC style suspension. It's a friends car and he decided to update the front shock assemblies to a set of Boges taken off an 88 Carrera. The Boges came from car with not a lot of miles and therfore he just left the Boge shock inserts in and bought new Koni's for the back shocks. Anybody see any reason not to do this? It's purely a money issue on his part since. Their not actually on the car yet and the car will just be used for street driving.

K,
I don't see any valid reason for doing this. I would make more sense if he had installed new Boges on the front, keeping the present rear shocks. Installing OLD shocks doesn't really help anything. Larry Harris

Bilstein Sports in back and HDs in front is a pretty common combo. A stiffer rear shock helps tune out some of the inherent understeer of the factory settings.
