Oriental Rug/Led Zeppelin
I recall reading a looooong time ago, that one of the guys from Led Zeppelin bought a Porsche and recarpeted the inside with an oriental rug. For whatever reason that story has stuck with me for >10years. Not that I'm going to do it - it would never lay flat, but does anyone have a picture?
Someone posted this, and it got me to thinking... ![]()

Well, Bonzo was a huge car collector....
Just got finished reading Richard Cole's book on Zeppelin, interesting read, tells of all the hedonism and even the infamous "shark incident" |

Bonzo liked big American muscle cars... Camaros, GTOs, Corvettes etc. I never heard any stories of him driving Porsches.
On A&E Biography though...there was a cool clip of Brian Wilson driving up to his house in a beautiful yellow 65-66 911. |

I didn't realize Zappa was talking about a Led Zep. , ah, "party"
Theat Seattle Hotel is still there as I recall. Now, to get back to a more on Topic thread, who has what music symbols on their 911 (I have a nice subtle wheel & roses decal where the PO had a PCA decal). |

"Hammer of the Gods" is the old school book, I think Cole's book is "Stairway to Heaven". Back on topic. Wasn't there a thread here that discussed Ferdinand Porsche's personal 911 with a similiar interior ![]() EDIT: My bad. Ferdinand Piech's RS had this interior according to this thread: Ferry Porsche's '73RS Back to lurking....

Hammer of the Gods is total BS by the way, Richard Cole's book is the more accurate account

I think you guys have the story wrong. Robert Plant named little "bob" mud shark (for obvious reasons). That's how all of that got started.

Could have sworn that it was a PNW salmon, being Seattle and all. Talk about a nothing story becoming a myth/legend.
![]() And VaSteve, can you link to where you found that picture originally? I think that it might be a '73 RS, believe it or not. ![]()

Speeder,
Could it be an RS? It's got a 65-72 shifter
