TRE North Hollywood...

I've read about these guys on this forum a number of times, always wondered if they lived up to the hype. I finally had the genuine pleasure of using them, and after spending a not-insignificant (at least to me) amount of $$$ with them, I will say these 3 things:

1. Good price
2. Ahead of schedule
3. PHENOMENAL workmanship.

That, and they are some of the nicest guys around. I even got a spin in a '69 911. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Jeremy, Tyson, Dave, thanks a bunch; you've earned my business and you'll see me again. (Even though I have to trek all the way up from Long Beach.)

He's pretty hard to catch in that 914. The only way to do it, I've heard, is to have his shop build you an even faster car.

Dave, with his fair pricing, has enabled me to at least afford a replacement Ford Fiesta or cherry Yugo.

But seriously: listen to what Dave, Jeremy, Dan and particularly Tyson have to say. Those guys know their Porsche poop.

Thumbs up

Matt, thank you very much for the kind words! It was a pleasure meeting you today.

And hey, you never asked to take Scruffy out for a spin! She needs the exercise! Maybe next time.

Just curious, why do quite a few shop owners drive 914's, Dave of TRE, Ottos (Venice CA), and what's that guys name of NARW in Reseda?

I believe it is Klaus at NARW.

914s are cool and can go fast.

And remember, a key element to customer/shop relations is high quality fermented beverages.

It is Klaus at NARW.
And he prides himself at being a giant killer wth a ride that costs so little, it's a 4 banger. I think the 914 format has a lot to do with it.
He's a Nice guy too

Yeah, I believe Klaus won a HSR-West Porsche Class this year. He beat a lot of the guys with flat-6s. And, he is a nice guy who does exceptional work (as with Dave @ TRE, John @ Ottos, Don @ Aurel & Dons).

Darn, I knew I should not have left so soon. She is an EVIL looking little beast.

Yea, damn right Good to know that myself, the sound man from Home Improvement and an ex German Army limo driver aren't the only ones out there...

I'm not impressed. Up here in Michigan we got a really good Pep Boys and even a local Autozone! On Saturday afternoons I head down to Napa and bench race with Auggie the counter guy over Natural light and pretzels. I tell you what you should see him with an english wheel, simply amazing! Oh yea, and Earl the shipping dude can dignose CIS problems by ear over the phone. TRE, Pssssttt whatever.

Oh yea, and Dirty (thats just what we call him) has an '81 Sunbird with a 305 in her that pulls low 12's at Martin (our local drag tack). So again I say EAT IT you got nothin.

Exactly! He's complaining about having to drive "all the way" from Long Beach. Michigan? If you can even find a good mechanic who knows Porsche, it's a good bet it'll be on the other side of the state ..... you guys really do have it good out there! On the other hand, it probably saves me a ton of $$$. If we had a TRE, I'd probably be working on my own Memorial Wing right now

I bought a roll bar from Dave not long ago (now in Mike F's Targa now that I have the SC coupe) and he was a pleasure to deal with. I know if I lived is SoCal I would do more business with these guys.
