It makes a huge difference if you "know" the engine, and the car it came out of. Have you heard it run, or driven the car before it was pulled? 105K is not alarming, although, it could be!
That said, I'd assume 3k plus or minus for an unknown 3.2. (a pile of parts bolted together). More if you know it to be real good.

I have no real idea on the 3.6, but will fire a shot anyways and say $7,500-8000.

The 3.2 $5000-$5500.

When you say complete, does that include DME?

I 2nd the $5-5.5K price for a "good" motor - not consuming oil, from a running car, etc.
-Chris
EDIT: 3.2 motor

I sold my 3.6 993 for around $7.5, ODBI, w/ 40K miles. It did not have the AC. I bought it from an ex-Pelican head, turned Doctor, and unloaded his engines. It was unknown (means, I never fired it up) and may have affected the sale from him to me and from me to another Pelican head.

I've seen US varioram engines anywhere from $8000 for a 96 (you can't reprogram the ECU on this one, so it's less desireable) to $11,000 for a low mileage 98. I'd say the norm is roughly $9500 for a complete varioram engine, based on my recent engine search. Deman Motorsports currently has a 98 w/ ~18k miles, complete, for $9500 as a point of reference.

So do you think im being reasonable in asking $10,800 including shipping for my 97 with 14,467 miles on it including everything as well as the fender mounted oil cooler and oil lines? AND...i was going to take a 3.2 with 100,000 on it as partial payment for $5000. this sound fair to you guys?

I think if you and the other party are happy with the deal, that's all that matters.

Yes it does sound reasonable.

B. Lane,

I think the 3.2's have dropped some so I'd say $4.5 to $5k tops and that is assuming good leakdown/compression. A 100k engine could be in need of valve / top end work.

At 5k altittude, you should see 130-140 compression with tight numbers and a less than 10% leakdown. The buyer will want to know what you have and it will be much easire to sell if you can prove the condition of the motor.

I just picked up a '78 SC with a 85 3.2. The motor does not leak and compression was 135-140 (that equate to 160+ at sea level), leakdown was 4-5%. The body is rough (needs paint, minor body work) but I got the entire package for $5750.

As for a 3.6, I'll say $6.5 - $7k, more for a 97 and up.

Where in Colorado are you? I'm in Littleton.

My '97 euro 993 Vram with 20K miles was $9500. Perfect leakdown/compression. Came with DME, etc.
