Unhappy Covers/Coverking (problem)

I ordered a Coverking Stormshield from Pelican a couple of weeks ago. I received it last week and put t on the car the other day.

My first impression was that it appears to be very thin and flimsy. I got a cover with the car that was more like a cotton material that repelled some water (kinda like those stainblocker pants) - much thicker than the new cover.

So last night I got the first test of the water repellance of the Coverking and I was not impressed. I lifted it a little this morning (I don't drive the Porsche to work) and found that was wet underneath on the doors and on the targa bar. (These are the the places I checked). I need this cover to keep out water since the targa needs replacing as well as the window seals leave about a 1/8" gap on the sides.

Here are my questions:
- How thick is the Stormshield supposed to be? (Making sure I got what I ordered).
- Should I be expecting it to block water? Isn't that the point? I was using a blue tarp over the targa when I used the old cover, but that left some small marks on the body I will need to buff out.

Thanks
Steve

I had a similar issue the first time I used my cover. I was in total panic mode and I am sure that I was one of the customers that Wayne occasionally complains about. It ended up being condensation. It was bad the first time, but I after a few days of rain, I don't have an issue anymore. I also remove the cover after hard rain to let it breath better.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your cover.

I also found that my Stormshield stops rain but not condensation. I kept my car outside, under it, for a year and was pleased.
