Question Weber Guys, This Ones For You

I had my airbox cover off of my 70T yesterday while changing the plugs, and noticed that the venturis (air horns?) of my Webers on the left cylinder bank seem to have a carbon build-up on them, but the right bank is spotless. Is this indicative of a rich running condition, something else, or just that the PO cleaned the right bank, but not the left?

Cool

My guess is that the former PO ran out of spray-on carb cleaner.

Where you see the real carbon build up is underneath the throttle plates!

Just thinking about this, check to see if that carb might have been on fire. Hate to tell this about the carbs, but fires are plentiful in them.

Anything else I could look at to figure this one out, beside totally disassembling the carb?

You can run it and see if it is spitting out the top. Irregular popping in the carbs usually equals lean, in the exhaust=rich or misfire.
A lazer pyrometer will tell if one bank of headers is running hotter(lean).
Also if you put propane in the stacks and the idle raises, it needed more gas.
