Front vent behind hood block off

<blockquote>What do you racers do when you've removed the front vent fan and now have no use for the front vent behind the hood?

I'm tempted to just use some black duct tape and tape it off but that seems like a hack way to do it if you ask me. I need to block off the vent to keep bugs and rain from getting into the trunk and messing things up.

Actually, I would love to get one of those hoods that does not have an indent for the front vent but that would only solve part of the problem and is a bit down the road financially. ;)

Cheers,
Steve

Easy, just use a piece of thin ally which is easy to bend into the same curvature as the mesh.

Cool! Thanks for the tip, Steve.

Did you do anything to waterproof it?

steveW 12-28-2003 11:59 AM

I used a bit of silicone 'bath' sealer around the back, but that was all. So far it has been waterproof.

I junked my heater assy coz it was full of water and seized solid!
