NC, who's ready for a eng install/cookout
 

Hey Guys,

The 3.0 is ready to install in the 912-6. Anyone interested in a engine install/cook out in a week or so. First weekend in Jan isn't good for me, but the rest are good.

Next couple weekends won't work, but I should free up some after that...

I am moving down later in Jan, if you do it around then count me in!

I might be interested (depending on the weekend) ...I just might accidently learn something!

January is starting to look busy, but let me know when and I will try to be there. Help anyway I can, have never put in or removed an engine, always willing to learn. And, I am fairly close in upper sandhills.

My schedule looks good for either Jan 17th, or Feb 7th. So please everyone let me know how they look for them.

Here is a full frontal of the motor, I'm waiting on the UPS guy to deliver my box of Stainless bolts for the engine tin, and to get paid for a consulting job so I can get a set of new ign wires.

Hey John, for those of us that are new to NC where is sandhills?

I'm near Southern Pines/Pinehurst, its about an hour south of Raliegh on US 1.

If you hold a pair of golf clubs like divining rods, they point in my direction. :D

I'd love to come down.. I might be building my motor then but if I have the chance I'll come down.

Either date will work for me. Just let me know. I don't have the technical expertise, but willing to give a hand and learn something.

Sent my application for the local SCCA chapter today. Autocross school is the 28th of Feb, so I better get crackin' on getting the motor in. I'll keep everyone filled in on the schedule.

John, I can come up from Wilmington to help anytime for the next two months.

I saw that you joined up with us at THSCC. You'll have lots of fun.

I can help with the engine install if I'm free that day.

Update!!!!

If my box of tranny seals shows up by friday (asked for 3day shipping yesterday from out wonderful host), I'll have the tranny bolted to the engine this weekend.

Would the 25th work for everyone? Thats a sunday. I've got a biz commitment (maybe) on the 24th. Weather is showing sunny and 50's by then. Don't want to wait to long cause I want to drive the car at the local autocross in Feb and want to have the issues worked out by then.

John, Keep me posted... I'm about 1 hr away in Wingate just east of Chlt. I have thought about doing the autocross myself. Where did you sign up?

Okay, I got shipping confirmation from fed ex that my tranny seals should be here on friday, shouldn't take too long to install them.

Weather channel shows showers, but its days away, they are usually wrong, and I have a covered/enclosed shop.

I found the web site for the Tarheels Sports Car club, www.thscc.com , signed up there. They have track events, autocross, and rallies. Lots of the rallies are about 30 min south of Southern Pines in SC.
