Yup Saturn Yellow.....

Ingo was up at the crack of 10am.....

For those not in on the deal......

Blondie was a ebay derelict that was advertised w/o a picture. Stuck in mechanical hell, she had a 4500 bill at a Orange County repair shop. I bid on the car....a 73 914 conversion with a rebuilt carbed 2.7 (200hp dyno), fresh trans, very low mileage but weathered tub...final price was 5600. 4500 to the shop and 1100 and change to the owner.

Receipts from the PO for the rebuilt engine totaled 10K alone. Carrera front end with under body sway bar, Carrera rear end, polished 16" Fuchs and really trick oil lines and other goodies. He paid 8k for the car with all the parts BEFORE the conversion.....

After Paint, the black leather interior goes in, refresh the rubber, change out the slipping clutch and wooooohooooo......

Looks pretty good, and a smokin' deal!

Doesn't look rusty, either. That stuff in the front trunk looks like orange stain from a little water, but hard to tell from pics sometimes.

Yeah....I'm not going to bother to spray the trunks....the red stuff is just stain and wiped up in the rear trunk with comet and a scouring pad.

Mike, do the 914's with the flat 6's ever run hot. The reason why I ask is it looks like there isn't a very clean path ( or much room ) for the air to travel to the fan.

They run cool as the 911s, the intake grill up top is around the same size as the 911 grills...
